Facility Prep Cook
Ivy Manor Assisted Living Facilities and the Ivy Manor Memory Care Unit provide compassionate care in a warm, cozy, home like setting. We serve the frail and elderly, physically disabled, terminally ill and those suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Job Description
Facility Cook will be responsible for food production in terms of planning, ordering, preparing, and cooking meals for residents of Ivy Manor of West Bend. Individual must be able to complete job duties within scheduled time frame, while having ability to function under minimal supervision.
Facility Cook responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Main responsibilities:

Planning of weekly & monthly menu for all three main meal periods and snacks with the assistance of administrative staff

Ordering food, ingredients, and supplies from approved vendors while monitoring food inventory to ensure rapidly changing demand

Put away deliveries within a timely manner and store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators, freezers, pantry)

Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area

Delegating cooking & prep when applicable to caregiving staff with the aid of written instruction

Adapting meals to resident's tastes and seasonal changes

Ensure that all meals served are to the highest degree of quality utilizing discussions with residents and facility management

Supply each building with all items & products that will be needed to complete meal preparation
General Job Functions:

Always keep the residents and peers in high regards, treating all with respect and dignity

Maintain a dependable attendance record and adhere to good grooming, dress, and hygiene

One to one direct interaction with residents and their family or friends
Qualifications & Requirements:
-
Must be able to create food from scratch using recipes
-
2+ years of cooking experience in a food production setting
-
High School Diploma or GED
